Pepsi, book, and strep

Well after my last post I decided to slow down on the Pepsi, since I am truly an addict... So with a caffeine headache and all, I actually read a book, although it drove me crazy because it was all I could think about...(the book I mean). Brett knows when I read a book I take on the mood of the book until I have closure which never happens until I finish it-just imagine living with someone like that-someone as volatile as the book she reads...
Ashtynn and Julia both were strep positive on Monday, they are starting to feel better now. I swear-I spray my house down with Lysol, wash my dishes with bleach...what is mom to do? Right when Julia had a fever there was her and Isaac sitting on the couch watching a movie holding hands...cute, right? But all I could think about was how to quarantine her-which if any of you know her-it is impossible. Oh well, I have been thinking what a blessing antibiotics are and what in the heck would I do without them? So today I am thankful for antibiotics and my family.

Wining Session

After reading other blogs I've decided to try to be more "real" because thats what I enjoy. So unfortunately that equals a little bit of winy-ness on my part-ok maybe a lot of winy-ness
Life has been very busy to say the least. I worked Fri-Mon (4 in a row), on Sunday I got very little sleep because I had to be up during the day attending meetings and such only to go back to work. Monday I felt really bad when I woke up and realized I had missed 4 calls from my sitter, Isaac had a temp, I immediately took him to the doctor and he had strep, I worked Monday night and wasn't able to sleep Tuesday day (ok I slept 2 hrs during nap time, had to wake up to pick up kids).
So Wednesday morning I thought I should try to run my normal 3.1 miles, oh and I forgot to mention I haven't ran in like 3 wks (due to sickness, work and travels)...So why was I surprised when after running a little over a mile I was done? I guess because it took so much work to get to that point. Also, it is so much harder in the winter. I absolutely hate running on the tread mill and its too dark outside before kids wake up. I think I need to seriously think about getting a jogging stroller. I wonder if it sounds selfish for me to say I don't really want to share this time with my kids? Anyway... Now here it is Wednesday night I'm at work again Isaac still had a temp today so no sleep again-thank goodness for Pepsi! Don't I just sound like Polly Anna?

30th Birthday in NYC

-WARNING THESE PICTURES ARE NOT IN CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER-
For a year or so now Adam and I have been planning on spending our big 30th birthday together and since he is only about an hour away from NYC I thought it was time Brett and I took the trip to see Adam and Kayla in their element. Just to let you know I haven't been on an airplane in ten years!
This is ESPN Zone at Time Square, I wanted to let you all know that they actually have televisions in the bathroom-an individual one for each stall! Pretty funny...

Subway Station

We took the Ferry to Ellis Island and on the way we caught a glimpse of this beauty.

Early Saturday morning we we able to go to the Manhattan Temple

The leaves were absolutely BREATHTAKING-I could see why someone would want to live their there was water and trees everywhere!

We got to go see Wicked on Broadway! Brett and I had seen this in July but it was such a great musical we were excited to see it again. If you haven't seen it, it is definitely a must see.

AWE...I love this guy...

And as usual, Brett won over the three little neices.

Ashtynn Volleyball

Ashtynn just finished up her regular Volleyball season, they won in their region and now are going to have the opportunity to play in an 8th grade volleyball tournament in something like a state playoff. She is very excited. She loves Volleyball.
This is a picture my sister took of her getting a really great hit.
Ashtynn is going to have the opportunity to play in Club Volleyball this year. She will play in PHX a few Saturdays a month. She will be very busy as she is still going to do basketball.
We Love You Ash! Good Job!

Annie's First Triathlon

This last weekend there was a triathlon that started in Pima and ended in Safford. I have been training for it since June. But I have been wanting to do one since Kerrianne and Mary started doing them-I think 2 yrs ago???It was 625 yard swim...
I should let you know when I started training, embarrassingly enough I was using a nose plug. Even though there was nothing graceful about my swimming I did it without the nose plug.

Following the swimming was a 15 mile bike ride.

Following the bike was a 5k run. It was tough, but it was great! I think I'm addicted...

My sister-n-law Kena did it too, it happened to be on her birthday. Happy birthday Kena! You did awesome!!!

I just have to say thanks to all the support I got from my family and friends to do this. It was tough finding the time, couldn't have done it without your help.

Ethan Turns Ten

Ethan had a birthday!
He invited a few friends over and we all went bowling! Brett gave him his 308 Winchester from when he was a boy for his birthday. (It scares me to death, but Brett assures me he is old enough and will be taking a gun safety course.) I must say once again...I don't get hunting...

Julia was sharing her cake with her cousin, Jessica.

July Pack Meeting

These pictures are somewhat out of order, but this is following the awards at this pack meeting and during the races...these little kids spontaneously planned their own little activity, I think the ages range from 2-7. It was so funny to see them just go on and plan their own little thing.
ROCKET DERBY
Brett and Ethan getting the rocket ready for take off.
They had to wind up the rubber band on it with a drill, it was a very effective way of doing it.

Ethan earned his Bear. Yeah for Ethan! Good job!

*disclamer-ignore my hair...it had been a long day-as usual.

Olivia turns 7

Olivia had a birthday!
This is a few pictures of Olivia in her true form, she cracks me up!
We actually celebrated Olivia's birthday on the day before because our 11th anniversary was the day after her -day. Mom watched the kids and we took a trip to Mesa and hung out. The best part was we went to see Wicked-it was so hilarious!!!

Lake with the John's

I must warn you, I don't have great pictures from this trip, first of all I didn't want to break my camera and I need a better zoom lens for my camera.
Our friends, the John's invited us to the lake one weekend,
we had a blast!
There was time to bond...

We all had such a good time! We can't wait to go again. Thanks guys, you rock!

4th of July

Since Brett was back on the Safford Fire Dept. we went out to where he set off the fireworks for the 4th of July festivities.

This is a bunch of "contraband" fireworks they "had" to set off following the show...

Brett's brother, Brian and his wife, Kena came along with their kids. Notice how we have to look straight up to see the show.

These girls gave their necks a break and just tried to capture the fireworks on their cell phones...
typical teenagers.

AWE...Isaac is so cute with
Brett's fireman hat on.
Take note of the wound around his right eye, the night before this event we had been in NM setting off fireworks and Isaac got burned, he was blessed that it didn't hurt his eye.

Visit with the Burch's

Sometime around the middle of June we were given the privilege of a visit with the Burch's. These are some great friends we had when we lived in Prescott Valley they also moved away from PV, but to live in Idaho. We really miss them, but glad they are just a phone call away. This is Kerrianne and me...I have to mention that Shana was there too, but for some reason I don't have that picture? Shana is also one of my BFFs from PV.

Whitney, Olivia, and Abby
Obviously we were very excited to be reunited!

Ethan, Bret, and Tate
Ethan loves the Burch boys! He used to see them on a daily basis and they always got along so great! He missed them the most when we moved.

Swim Team

This picture is titled
"PROJECT CONTAINMENT" I wish I had pictures of the actual swim events but
I was too busy with "project containment".

This is Ashtynn's second year of swim team and her first year to compete in thirteen and older division. She did freestyle, breast stroke, and back stroke. Ashtynn has been swimming and jumping off of the high dive since she was five. She loves to swim.

This picture is titled
"PROJECT HILARIOUS"
These are actually adult goggles-yes we know...he has a big head.

This is Olivia's first year in swim team. This last meet it was Brett's turn to get in to assist her with her lap they got about 1/3 across while practicing and she froze up. So she and Brett spent the rest of the swim meet practicing strokes in more shallow water, which really helped her. Today she said that she was going to try to race again tonight.

Good luck Olivia!

This is Ethan's first year of swim team. Last year he was on the highest level of swim lesson and didn't feel ready for swim team. He is doing great!
He did butterfly, freestyle, and breast stroke.

Munch-n-Mingle

Announcing the first ever
Munch-n-Mingle
in Safford!
What better way to hit it off than
Kerrianne style?
When we lived in PV once a month we would have a get together where everybody in the ward was invited to come bring potluck and let the kids play. I have really missed it. Thanks to my sister-n-law Christina for donating the usage of her spectacular water slide.

Isaac really wanted a picture with his one and only- swim towel.

I had really positive feedback on it-so we will now be making this get together a Safford tradition.
Thanks everyone for coming!!!
